Preventative Dental Care San Juan Capistrano, CA

Dental Cleanings are the most important factor when it comes to preventing gum disease. Patients who brush and floss regularly should still have their teeth cleaned regularly (every 6 months) to remove hardened tartar, plaque, and bacteria that normally can not be remove at home.

Our preventative care appointments consist of an oral examination and a professional cleaning. During the oral examination, Dr. Kim and his team will take a set of radiographs to help determine if there is any tooth decay while also checking for gum disease and oral cancer. Fluoride treatment is always highly recommended to help strengthen your enamel and prevent cavities, especially if you have had dental restorations placed in the past.

Everyone is susceptible to hardened tartar and plaque buildup, even those that brush and floss their teeth religiously. They say that your teeth are the gateway to your body, and gum disease has been associated with an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and bone loss. Many foundational problems inside your mouth can be prevented by getting professional dental cleanings twice a year. Dr. Kim and his team will be glad to help you establish a dental hygiene routine to make sure that you keep your teeth for a lifetime!
