Dr. Michael Kim, DDS
Dr. Michael Kim, DDS is a native of Southern California and grew up in Loma Linda, CA. Coming from a family of dentists, Dr. Kim was brought up with a deep appreciation and understanding for dentistry from an early age. He fell in love with the profession early on, and decided to attend Pacific Union College in Napa, CA where he graduated with a B.S. in Biology.
He went on to return home and earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2013. After graduating from Loma Linda University, Dr. Kim moved to Dallas to practice with his father, eventually starting his own practice in North Dallas a few years later. After spending 6 years in Dallas, he decided to move back to Southern California to be closer to friends and family. Dr. Kim has dedicated himself to taking numerous hours of continuing education every year to stay up to date with the latest techniques and technology and is an advocate for providing the most advanced and conservative procedures possible. In his spare time, he loves traveling and spending time with his wife Yuna, and his two daughters Evelyn and Olivia.

Dr. Charles Wilson
Dr. Charles Wilson, DDS graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Biology in 1968, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1972. During his time at USC, he was ranked 4th out of 120 students in his class, and was awarded the Garrett Newkirk Memorial Award for Scholarship, Technical Skill, and Leadership along with the J. Walter Reeves Memorial Award for Proficiency in Anatomy.
Dr. Wilson completed a dental residency at Brentwood - Wadsworth VA Hospital in West L.A. in 1973. Dr. Wilson still believes that patient comfort is the #1 priority when it comes to dental treatment and is still an advocate for nitrous oxide administration and continues to hold his Oral Conscious Sedation Certification. Dr. Wilson has been living in San Juan Capistrano for the past 30 years and is happily married to his wife Joanne with 5 children and 11 grand children. His hobbies include mountain biking, scuba & free underwater diving, spear fishing, photography, watercolor, and painting. He is currently a member and Lay Counselor at South Shores Church in Dana point and attends weekly small groups with his Church group.

I can’t say enough great qualities about Dr. Kim and his staff. From when you enter his practice, you are greeted by a lovely lady, Anna, who welcomes you and lets the hygienist know you are there. Debbie is an amazing hygienist, and takes the time to explain what the equipment does that she uses on your teeth. I also love that she uses the numbing gel on my gums before she starts (per my request - you don’t necessarily need it). She also took extra time checking my teeth to make sure all the plaque was removed, which I appreciate greatly! I have never had such a detailed cleaning! And I am very picky about my teeth and how they are cleaned.
And Dr. Kim is an exceptional dentist and person. Not only has he put 2 crowns on after root canals completed and replaced an old cavity with great care, he also took the time to do some research as to who was a good periodontist for gum graphing that would accept my insurance. Saving me the hassle of calling my insurance and getting the runaround that goes along with that.
All in all a class A act at Ortega Cottage Dentistry. Highly recommended! Plus it is a beautifully decorated office and is very clean with the newest dental equipment too!

This team provides excellent care. The cleanings and checkups are great - pleasant, very comfortable, thouough and professional.
Dr. Kim is brillant- very smart and great explaining everything and recommend best options for the patient.
